I was just wondering...
Where are lightning bugs during the day? You see them at dusk, but at no other time during the day.
Do you call them "lightning bugs" or "fireflies"?

I just Googled this, and it appaears that lightning bugs use their light primarily for courtship, communication with each other, and to scare away predators. They are nocturnal, so they rest in secluded spots during the daytime hours.
